The Chennai based international racing team MOTO-REV INDIA are currently fourth in the Championship in the 2010 PETRONAS FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARCC). Following a crash in Round 1 at Sepang F1 Circuit recently, their Indian rider Dilip Roger is out of action with a fractured right elbow and wrist. Dilip has been replaced with experienced rider Preetham Dev Moses, the only Indian rider who has tested for MOTO GP.
Preetham will join MOTO-REV INDIA for Round 2 of the Championship at the Acropolis Circuit, Japan. He will compliment the team's two other Japanese riders - Toshiyuki Hamaguchi and Makoto Inagaki.
The 2010 PETRONAS FIM ARRC has top racing teams from Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand in addition to MOTO-REV INDIA.
Preetham Dev Moses, 29, is 7 times National Road Racing Champion in India. He finished 2nd in his debut Malaysian Super Series Championship in 2007 and is the only Indian to receive 5 wild card entries from Dorna Sports in 2008.
Apart from Preetam Dev Moses, MOTO-REV INDIA consists of Toshiyuki Hamaguchi, six time FIM Asian GP Champion (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008. In 2007 he was 3rd Overall) and All Japan Racing Series Champion. Hamaguchi is one of the most popular Japanese sportspersons with a huge fan base in his home country.
The third rider in the team is Makoto Inagaki, an upcoming Japanese rider whose credentials include 10th overall championship in 2000 in GP 250 and ST 600 and 4th overall in 2008 in ST 600.
Says Preetham Dev Moses from the trackside at Japan, "I'm really exited to be racing after a 6 month gap. I have used this time on strength training and improving stamina and am feeling better than ever. I have been on the Asian circuit for the last couple of years and hence know that the race engineers and technicians employed by MOTO-REV are the best in the business. So I have a better chance than ever to perform to my potential"
Says Team Principal and MOTO-REV INDIA Managing Director, Bala Vijay, "We are at the most technical circuit in this year's calendar and hope to perform well here in Japan.Though the conditions here are totally different to what you get in the Sub-continent we have been made to feel like its a second home, thanks to some of our Japanese team mates. Our campaign for this year's championship started just a couple of weeks before Round-1, so this 3 week break really helped us devise some motorcycle setups and racing strategies, thanks to which we will look to perform even more strongly from here on."
