K. Rajini and P. Karthik head championship tables
As Coimbatore gets ready to play host for the final time this season with the third round of the Rolon FMSCI National Racing Championship scheduled this weekend, the championship in its midway round is set for its decisive stage. The performances of the riders this weekend could be the turning point for the championship title. Kari Motor Speedway will once again see around 100 riders from various parts of the country in action, as the cream of the country’s two wheeler racers fight it out to gain the national honors. The qualifying sessions will be held on Saturday 29th August and the main races on Sunday, 30th August.
The championship races will feature two races each in categories and the non championship Honda support races will have two races in the 125 cc and one race in the 150 cc class. The championship has six classes - two in the expert category, one in intermediate, two in the novice and one in the moped category. Experts will compete in the Group B 4 stroke 130 to 165 cc and FIM 600 cc 4 stroke Super Bikes classes.

Expert
Group B 4 stroke 130 to 165cc
P. Karthik of Team TVS Racing leads the championship table in this class with 38 points. Karthik’s team mate Harry Sylvester has move up to second place with 27 points while the veteran racer Sriskandaraja from Team Sidvin is in third place with 22 points. With the above leads not substantial it is a still wide open field for the championship title. Racers T.K.Vishwanath and K.Vinoth are also in the contention with 21 and 18 points respectively. making the scenario for the top three slots a tough one.
Group A FIM 600CC Super Bikes 4 stroke
Team Red Rooster with their team’s dominating performances from their three international racers continue to rule the roost in this class. K. Rajini heads the table with 38 points followed by Preetham Dev Moses with 32 and Rohit Giri with 11 points respectively.
Open class
Harry Sylvester is in the lead currently having garnered 20 points followed by P.Karthik with 16 points. Sumit Lucas and Sarath Kumar are tied in third place with 11 points apiece.
Intermediate
From 3rd position in the previous round Tharun Rajan has moved up to head the championship table with a tally of 34 points. A.Vinoth Kumar with 26 points is now in second place while A. Satish Kumar with 24 points is in third place.
Novice
Group D 4 stroke up to 130 cc
With just one point separating the top four in this class the championship predictions at this stage is bound to be unpredictable. D.Dinesh heads the championship table with 24 points. In second place is Satyendra N. Oraon with 23 points while R.Karthik and K.Jagan are in third and fourth places with 22 and 21 points respectively.
Group A 4 stroke up to 600cc
Since the races in this class were not held in Round 2, the championship positions remain the same. K.V.Balaji leads in this category with 10 points while Sumit Lucas with 8 points and Alisha Abdullah with 6 points are in second and third places.
Moped – 2 stroke up to 65cc
The lead has changed hands and R. Ashok Kumar is the current championship leader with 34 points. A. Vinoth Kumar is in second place with 32 points followed by B.M.Sriram in third place with 21 points.
Being held under the aegis of the FMSCI, the National Championship is promoted by Meco Motor Sports Private Limited, Chennai. The National Championship is title sponsored by Rolon and co-sponsored by Amaron, Single-make Honda non championship support races are being sponsored by Honda while the Championship Awards will be given to the winners by TVS Motors Ltd.
