It’s almost 11 pm and its time for the first MotoGP race of the season.

Start: All the Yamahas are on the front row and Lorenzo is all concentration. Dani gets a great start, off in the lead. By the end of lap one Rossi already in the 5th right behind Lorenzo.

Lap2: Fastest lap goes to Dani. Toseland moves into 2nd as Rossi moves into 3rd ahead of Lorenzo.

Lap 3: Lorenzo goes past Toseland into 3rd as does Stoner, pushing Toseland to 5th. Rossi gets fastest lap a 1’55.738. Stoner catching Lorenzo really fast. Rossi takes the lead on the Bridgestone shod Yamaha at the end of Lap 4 with a super move on Dani.

So top 5 is: Rossi, Dani, Lorenzo, Stoner, Dovisioso.

15 laps to go: Lorenzo into 2nd, Stoner into 3rd. Dani pushed wide to 4th. Close maneuver.

Lap 8: Stoner takes the lead and pulls a small lead over Rossi. Rossi into 3rd because Loren moves to 2nd.

Lap 9: Lorenzo catches Stoner, a builds a gap to Rossi.

Lap 11: Chris Vermuelen out of the Qatar Gp. He comes into the pits, tyre problems it looks like. Gap between Rossi and Lorenzo is now over 1.5 seconds. Will the 7 time world champ be able to do anything? Lorenzo hanging on to Stoner very well. Chris comes out with a fresh front tire.

Lap 12: Casey Stoner sets the fastest lap. Dani all over the rear tire of Rossi. Andrea and Toseland are catching them fast.

Lap 13: Casey sets another fastest lap, a 1’55.389. 0.787 gap between him and Lorenzo

Lap 14: Pedrosa takes 3rd spot from Valentino as he drafts past the line. Gap between the 1st two riders is almost 1 second now, halfway into the lap.

As of now it looks like Rossi did a big mistake with shifting to Bridgestones with Lorenzo over 5 seconds lead over him.

Other riders down the order: 06.Toseland 07. Edwards 08. Capirossi 09. Randy de Puniet 10. Hayden 11. John 12. Marco 13. Nakano 13. Elias and so on...

Lap 19: Dovisioso overtakes Rossi, his fellow country men and moves into 4th spot. Rossi takes back the place from Dovisioso. Phew close stuff!

Lap 20: Casey Stoner dominates proceedings, looks like its business as usual for the Aussie rider. VR, AD and JT are all real close in the battle for 4th. Toseland down on power on the straight though with the 07 Yamaha.

Last Lap: Loads of overtaking between Andrea and Valentino.

Stoner takes the win in style and a Lorenzo gets a dream debut with 2nd. Dani takes 3rd while 4th, 5th and 6th places go to Dovisioso, Rossi and Toseland.

Rossi back in the pits look like he's readlly tired. Pedrosa runs out of fuel on the in lap, looks like Repsol Honda boys measured fuel needs to the last drop. Toseland looks tired but happy and he should be as he rode a fine race.

That's all for now more updates and snaps later!
